using a forwarder with USB Loader GX

I would like to run USB Loader GX off my USB drive, from the same partiion where I have my game files. But right now I have no idea what I am doing and I am confused about how all of this works.

I set up my system using the WiiHacks mod any system guide. I have a USB Loader GX channel on my Wii system menu and I can also access it from Homebrew.

When I go into Wii options to look at what channels are installed, it shows GX installed as a channel on my Wii, but it does not show anything installed as a channel on my SD card.

Recently I downloaded the new update for GX, using the AllinOnePackage, which includes the "USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT"

I installed the forwarder from WAD manager and I copied USB GX in the Apps folder onto my USB drive. I then removed my SD card and booted up my system. I was able to access USB GX, but I don't know if that is because it was loading off my USB drive or loading off my Wii drive.

Is there some way to verify whether or not it is loading from USB drive? And do I need to manually uninstall the GX channel from my Wii System to make sure it doesn't load from there?

Also, all the covers were missing, and it told me to insert me SD card to access the covers. I copied all the covers over to my USB drive in the GX folder where they belong. But when I look at "custom paths" in the GX options, all the custom paths lead to my SD card. Is there a way for me to conveniently change all paths to my USB drive?

Thanks for your help.
